I am a 2009 graduate of UMass Dartmouth with a degree in painting and two-dimensional studies. Primarily, I paint in oils. My favorite medium is ink wash, which I love to draw with. I enjoy finding beauty in simple things and also in the everyday things that some might pass off as ordinary. I am a colorist and formalist. Artists that have influenced me are Charles Sheeler, Richard Diebenkorn, and Wayne Thiebaud. I am also very interested in ceramics. I have developed a collection of pieces that I created in a few classes that I took during my undergraduate career at UMass. I plan on working more on my skills in ceramics sometime in the future, but presently I will be focusing on my painting and drawing at my studio at Creative Corner.

I am looking forward to working with the artists at The Creative Corner.

ART STATEMENT
"My art is based on the exploration of various artistic mediums and methods. Beauty is all around us. To be able to see it, and capture the idea or image and share with others is a joy to me. I explore what medium best shows the the idea of feeling, and enhances the image. Sometimes it is a painting, others a collage. It could be digital painting, a photograph, a sculpture. Art is an experience, and I thank you for sharing it with me."
MEDIA AND METHODS
In addition to working with the traditional artist media of photography, pens, pencils and paints, I also explore collage and textile arts. Once I have created a piece in one of these mediums, I try to translates it into a digital media, to further explore the possibilities.
Classes will be held in the following series:
Drawing- Pen and ink, charcoal, pencil and Manga.
Painting- Water color or Gouache.
Wearable Art jewelry, beading basics, painted silk scarves, felted flowers, painted clothing items.
Paper and Print The paper and print series will feature making journals, calligraphy, collage and basic book bindings.
